Classes and Camps

Leikarringen: Youth Dance
​
Join one of the largest youth Norwegian dance groups in the country. Perform at Lutefisk Dinner, retirement homes, schools and Viking Fest.

For children Pre-K through 12th grade.
​September-May.
​Bunad is provided on loan.

Wood Carving
​Kitsap Carvers, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting woodcarving as an art form and an enjoyable pastime, is offered Thursdays in the Viking room.
Learn forms such as chip, figure and relief.

Beginners to advanced are welcome.
Donation accepted at the door.
Thursdays, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Sons of Norway, District 2
Doreen J Parker Heritage Retreat
Held in September


Spend the weekend in the mountains at Trollhaugen Lodge, Learning about
Trolls, and their secrets. A weekend of crafts, cooking, and fun.  Some of the activities to choose from are Rosemaling, Woodcarving, and Hardangersøm.  Learn to sing some of those favorite Norwegian songs.

* Registration fee of $150.00 ($160.00 after September 1st) per person.  Includes room, all meals and class supplies.

** Masks will be recommended in Troll room for classes.
This is the only heritage & culture retreat this year. We will have a reduced number of beds and space available

Heritage Camp 
Registration Closed for 2024

​Around Midtsommerfest in June, the lodge conducts a 3-day
summer day camp for children ages 7-12. This camp promotes the culture and heritage of Norway.  The theme for 2025 will be Christmas Traditions in Scandinavia.​
  • Scandinavian folk dancing
  • Games, such as Kubbe
  • Craft projects, such as weaving and carving
  • Cooking lessons, such as lefse and krumkaker
