We're seeking donations of fresh greenery and vibrant flowers to help create traditional Midsommar wreaths and festive decorations. Your contribution will help transform our celebration into a colorful and authentic Scandinavian tradition for everyone to enjoy.

Please deliver your donations to Waterfront Park by 8:30 a.m. on June 20.

Events & Activities
An annual event with a Nordic Market, the Maistang pole raising, folk dancing, a Viking parade, a summer solstice proclamation reading, and a massive bonfire at the waterfront.

  • 10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Nordic Market Scandinavian Bazaar open in the Poulsbo Sons of Norway Marine Room 
  • 10:00 am - 1:00 pm: Free flower crown-making, live music, and dance performances
  • 1:00 pm: Maistang raising, inviting audience participation in dancing and singing
  • 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm: Folk dance performances by Poulsbo Leikarringen youth dancers
  • 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm: Live music performances continue
  • 8:45 pm (Dusk): The Vikings will march down Front Street across Waterfront Park to the bonfire pit where the Vikings will conduct their ceremonial Summer Solstice ceremony
June 20th will feature the Leikarringen dancer's last performance for this school year.

Leikarringen dancers are also invited to join in on the raising of the Maistang at 1:00 PM.

Midsommar is a charming and vibrant grass roots celebration of Midsommar, a traditional Swedish celebration occuring on a weekend close to the summer solstice. Held at the Poulsbo Waterfront Park, this event is widely attended by the public and the larger Scandinavian American community in the Puget Sound area. This event is hosted, organized and funded by Poulsbo Leikarringen.



Various Scandinavian musical groups will provide live music throughout the day, and there will be supplies for making flower crowns available all morning.

Sons of Norway District 2 Golf Tournament

The tournament will be at the Icicle Course, Leavenworth, WA, on August 22nd.

$130 per player
Includes: golf, use of cart, and sack lunch.
Banquet is also included.
$30 per additional banquest place for guest.

This is open to all ages and abilities.

Lodging is each person's responsibility.  Lodging recommendations and info to come.

PHOTO AT THE TOP: Thank you to Ranveig Marie Photography for permission to use the photo of Sverd i fjell (Swords in rock).   This was where Harald Fairhair gathered Norway into one kingdom in 872. The monument consists of three swords that are fixed into stone. They symbolize peace, unity, and freedom.
